Scholar’s Essays on Maybeck by the Maybeck Foundation
History is important, but what does a designer like Maybeck mean to us today—or in the distant future? These essays collected by the Maybeck Foundation ask top architecture writers to speculate on how Maybeck's architecture will be viewed from a 1,000-year perspective.
Included are short interpretive essays by notable architecture critics and historians: Pulitzer Prize winners Paul Goldberger and Alan Temko, historians Gray Brechin and Robert Craig, biographer Kenneth Cardwell and others.
